If you want to swim with the dolphins in Chankanaab National park you can do that too. Some would like both experiences.
Chankanaab Park is very special. Since it was declared a national park in 1980, it has been a sanctuary for beautiful flora and fauna of the region. You’ll be able to explore natural lagoon inside the park as well as mystical ruins of ancient Mayan civilizations.
A beach adventure park offers more opportunities for diving and snorkeling, as well as visiting a crocodile farm, catch the sea lion show, and grab a tasty lunch. All-in-all, your time in Cozumel will be very memorable.
If you will be coming to the park via one of the many cruise ships that dock in Cozumel, it’s important to understand the time differences. Cruise ship times will stay on Eastern Standard Time, whereas Cozumel time is Central time, so one hour behind. So, if you leave your ship at noon, it is really 11:00AM Cozumel time. This will be important so you arrive for program orientation on time. Don’t want to keep those dolphins waiting!
