But before you can put your toes in the sand, there is one important question every beach visitor has to answer: Where am I going to park?
In this day and age, finding parking near the beach is always a challenge. Daytona Beach is no exception. The days of easy free beach parking are mostly behind us, especially in busy summer months, weekends, holidays, and event weeks. If you live near Daytona Beach or you are planning a summer visit, having a parking plan before you arrive can make your day much easier.

I ranked these based on convenience, visitor usefulness, nearby beach access, and how practical they are for a summer beach day.
My number one pick is Sun Splash Park Parking Lot, located near 611 S. Atlantic Ave. This is one of the best all-around parking choices in Daytona Beach because it gives you a simple beach day setup. You are close to the sand, you have a park setting, and it works well for families who want to park once and stay for a while.
Sun Splash Park is especially useful if you are traveling with kids, beach bags, towels, coolers, umbrellas, and all the normal summer beach gear. You do not have to make the day complicated. Park, walk over, and enjoy the beach.
This area also works well for nearby beach access points like Goodall Ave and Lenox Ave, making it a strong choice for visitors who want convenience without relying on driving directly onto the beach.
If you are heading to the busy heart of Daytona Beach, the Ocean Center Parking Garage at 701 Earl Street is one of the smartest places to park. This is the best choice if your beach day includes the Daytona Beach Boardwalk, Pier, Main Street, restaurants, shops, or nearby attractions.
Beachside street parking can fill up quickly, especially during summer weekends. The Ocean Center Garage gives you a more dependable option when the main tourist area is busy. The University Blvd Lot at 834 N. Atlantic Ave is one of the most useful parking areas on the north-central side of Daytona Beach. It serves several nearby beach access points, including University Blvd, Seabreeze Recreation Center, Zelda Blvd, Horizon Condo Access, and Seaview Ave.
That makes it a flexible parking choice. If one access area is busy or not ideal, you have other nearby options. This is helpful during summer when certain beach entrances can get crowded.
If you are looking for a practical parking option that gives you choices, University Blvd is worth considering.
One thing that makes Daytona Beach famous is the ability to drive and park directly on the beach in certain areas when ramps are open. For that classic Daytona Beach experience, International Speedway Blvd is one of the best-known options.
This parking choice is great for visitors who want to pull onto the beach, set up near the car, and enjoy the ocean without carrying everything a long distance. It is also close to hotels, restaurants, and the main visitor strip.

I like this area for people who want the convenience of parking on the sand but do not necessarily want to be in the middle of the main tourist crowd. It can be a smart choice for a more relaxed beach day on the south side of Daytona Beach.
Again, only use this option when the beach ramp is open and conditions allow.
Seabreeze Blvd is another useful on-beach parking option, especially if you are visiting the north-central part of Daytona Beach. It is close enough to restaurants, hotels, and tourist areas, but it also gives you that drive-on beach convenience when available.
This is a good pick for visitors who want to spend time near the action but still enjoy the ease of parking directly on the beach.
Just remember that beach driving is not always available. Conditions can change quickly, especially during summer storms or high tides.
Williams Ave is a good beach-driving option for visitors staying in the northern part of Daytona Beach. If your hotel or rental is north of the main tourist area, this can save you time because you do not have to drive all the way down toward Main Street or the Pier.
This is a practical parking option for people who want beach access without fighting the heaviest traffic in the center of town.
For guests who love the idea of parking on the beach, Williams Ave can be a strong choice when the ramp is open.
Breakers Beachfront Park, near 13 S. Atlantic Ave, is a great location if you want to be close to the Daytona Beach Pier, Boardwalk, and oceanfront attractions.
This area can get busy, and that is the tradeoff. The location is excellent, but you may need patience during peak times. If you are planning to spend part of your day at the beach and part of your day walking around the tourist area, this parking choice makes sense.
It is especially good for visitors who want photos, food, beach time, and the full Daytona Beach vacation feeling.
The Wisteria Road Parking / Access Area is my pick for visitors who want a quieter south-end beach option. It serves areas near Wisteria Road, Ocean Dunes Road, and Hillside Ave.
This is not the flashy Boardwalk-style beach day. It is more practical for people who want a calmer access point away from the busiest visitor zones. If your goal is to enjoy the ocean, relax, and avoid the biggest crowds, this area may be a good fit.
If I had to narrow the list down to my top three for tourists, I would choose:
