This program was created especially for you and the dolphin to share a series of sensational and safe activities while establishing a unique bond of trust. The dolphin greets you with a handshake, a kiss on the cheek, and lets you kiss them as well. Later, you will get close and personal with your new friend while he takes you on a belly-ride. At the end, you will enjoy moments of great spontaneity during your free time together. Pre-swim briefing

Start with a 15–20 minute educational presentation before you enter the water.

Dolphin experience (about 40 minutes)

Enjoy a combination of shallow-water and deep-water interaction (up to 15 ft / 5 m) in natural seawater.
You’ll have time to touch, play, kiss, and learn simple training behaviors with a dolphin, then head into
deeper water for even more interaction.

Dolphin ride options

At least one ride with one dolphin is included, based on the dolphin’s comfort and willingness that day.
Ride options may include:

  • A single dolphin dorsal fin ride
  • Belly-to-belly ride while holding the dolphin’s pectoral fins as you glide across the water

Important: Every session is different. Specific rides and activities may vary depending on the dolphins and the group.

Age & Supervision Policy

  • Guests age 17 and under must have one paid adult (18+) in the water with them.
  • Ratio: 1 adult per up to 3 children.

Gear & What to Bring

  • A flotation belt is provided. Wetsuits are not provided.
  • Please wear your bathing suit and bring a towel.

Facility Rules

  • Observers and companions are not permitted to enter the facility due to limited space on Dolphin Island.
  • All participants must know how to swim. If anyone in your party cannot swim, you must choose the
    Dolphin Family Experience (non-swim).

  • Snorkel and interact with nurse sharks and stingrays (equipment included).

Group Size

Maximum of 12 participants per dolphin session.

Available with Your Program

Your time slot includes a guaranteed Dolphin Action Swim program, a short educational briefing, and
round-trip transportation from your resort to the private beach and back. Soft drinks are included, along
with a boat ride to Dolphin Island and snorkeling with sharks and rays. Plan for up to 4 hours of activities total.

Note: The park is closed on Sundays.

Getting to the Location

You can arrive by rental car or taxi (directions available upon request), or you can reserve transportation when booking
your program (hotel–location–hotel). Transportation is included with your dolphin program reservation.
Service is not available for hotels in the La Romana zone.

Photography

A professional photographer will take photos of you and your group with the dolphins
(photos only, no video).

  • No personal cameras are allowed in the water with the dolphins or in the dolphin staging area.
  • Digital photo packages (about 20–30 photos) are available for each program.
    For in-water programs, pricing is $80+ for 1–2 people (all photos) and
    $120+ for 3 or more people (all photos).
    Single digital photos are $50 each.
  • Any questions about photo packages and pricing, please speak to the Photo Manager on site.

Meet an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin up close in Bávaro Beach / Punta Cana.
You’ll start with an interactive educational session where you’ll learn the basics about dolphins and what
to expect during your program. Then it’s time to get in the water for hands-on interaction—touching,
playing, and learning simple training behaviors with a dolphin.

You’ll also move into deeper water for even more dolphin time, and you will receive

Upon arrival, please proceed to check-in window, present your dolphin program confirmation number or your last name, which you will receive after making your reservation via email or text.

  • Confirmation number is a must for entrance.
  • You do not need to have a printed voucher.
  • All customers/participants are required to sign liability waivers before participating in this activity.

 

Refunds / Cancellations and Changes:

All cancellations must be received by Dolphin World / Keys Adventure Tours, Inc. in writing by email or regular mail.

  • A 10% service charge will apply per person for any cancellations prior 31 days of activity date.
  • A 50% service charge will apply per person for any cancellations within 30 – 15 day period prior activity date.
  • A 75% service charge will apply per person for any cancellations within 14 – 8 day period prior activity date.
  • Prior 8 days of your reservation date, you may change your reservation to a gift certificate, where you would not incur any penalties except the change fee. This gift certificate will be good for 1 year from the date of the certificate.
  • NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN TO ANY ACTIVITY PARTICIPANTS who cancel within the 7 day period, does not show up, are late for scheduled program(s). Once a reservation has a confirmation number and confirmed, a refund or change can only be made more than 7 days of the activity date and any change to the program date is subject to availability. Changes made to existing reservations are subject to a $25.00 per person change fee.
  • The Dolphin Swim goes on Rain or Shine.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I get to Dolphin Discovery Punta Cana?

To get to our location you can do this in three ways: By car rental, through a taxi or when purchasing your program reserve your transportation (Hotel-Location-Hotel) which is already included in the price of any of our programs.

If I want to get to Dolphin Discovery Punta Cana by car, what can I do?

If you come by car, you need to head to the intersection of the highway with Av. Barcelo Downtown and find a new complex in the area with several shops. Our site is located INSIDE Downtown just down the main circuit. It is easy to locate because our main entrance is identified by a large palapa 18 feet high.

Are programs carried out in the sea or tanks?

Our programs are conducted in a seminatural habitat that is not located at sea.

If my friends want to go with me without swimming, do they have to pay a special fee as observers?

Your companions can be present while you do your program without any cost. We have a special area for them. The only regulation is that it can not go with cameras, video or cell. If you choose to buy your program and reserve your transportation, you must include your companions and they have an additional charge of $20.00 USD per person.

Besides dolphin programs, are there other activities in Punta Cana?

By the time, our location in Punta Cana only has three Dolphin interaction programs. In the future we will have more surprises for you.

Could I have a towel if I swim with dolphins in Punta Cana?

We have no towel service at the moment, it is necessary that you bring your own.

Is there a safe place where I can leave my stuff?

We have no cost lockers where you can leave your belongings safely and reliably as we have locks on the latest technology.

What is your policy on children?

Infants are considered children 1 to 5 years, whom do not pay the service, however for the Encounter program must have 1 year of age and / or life jacket must fit properly.

We consider them children 6 to 12 years, but for programs should measure 1.20 m and in the company of a paying adult or 1.40 m to perform any program alone. The children will do activities appropriate to their age and height.

What activities are carried out in each program?

Royal Swim: Foot Push, Dorsal Tow, Handshake, Kiss, Hand target, hug.

Swim Adventure: Belly Ride, Boogie push, Hug, Hand target, handshake, kiss.

Dolphin Encounter: Hand target, kiss, handshake, as well as information about the behavior and anatomy of dolphins.

How many people are in the water at the same time?

Royal Swim: 10 maximum.

Swim Adventure: 12 people maximum.

Dolphin Encounter: 15 to 20 people maximum.

How early should I arrive?

We recommend to arrive at least 45 minutes before your scheduled time as you need to check in and receive a small induction.

Can I feed the dolphins?

Dolphins have a specifically balanced diet according to their age, activity and development, so feeding dolphins is not allowed as this could affect their health.

Do you offer therapy programs with dolphins?

No, we currently do not have this service, our programs are educational and interactive. However, we invite you to participate in any of our programs, you can review the security policies section for more information on the participation of people with disabilities.

Do you have transportation service?

Yes, we have transportation service included for those who have a dolphin swim program (service not available for hotels in La Romana zone). Companions shall make an additional payment of 20 USD. (This service must be requested through email to customercare@dolphindiscovery.com or by phone 24 hours before the program).

How I can recognize the transportation vehicle?

All our units have the Dolphin Discovery logo, plus our staff will have distinctive uniform.

What will be the schedule of my transportation?

The timetables for your pick up and return will be scheduled at the time of your reservation.

Will I have to wear a life jacket?

The use of life jackets is required in all water programs, our staff will provide the jacket that best suits your complexion, we have jackets available in different sizes and for babies one year old and up.

I am a person with disabilities, Can I participate in the programs?

People with disabilities may participate in our programs, this requires filling a format and send it via email to info@dolphindiscovery.com,  in this format is to specify the type of special attention they require and based on this information we can determine which is the best program for you and how many people will assist you.

Can I use my camera?

For security reasons, is not allowed to use cameras in the water, professional photos will be available for sale.

Can pregnant women participate?

Our programs dolphin swim Swim Adventure and Royal Swim are not allowed for pregnant women, however our Dolphin Encounter program is a great option for women with up to 5 months of pregnancy, previously signing a waiver and accompanied by another adult.

 

What if there is inclement weather?

Our programs go on rain or shine, so there are no cancellations or refunds in these cases.
