Marine Animal Workshops

Hello! Are you looking for an in-depth program about dolphins and other marine, land, and winged animals? You don't have to be a Marine Biologist or have to study Animal Sciences to enjoy these great animals. We have just the program for you! We offer One, Two, Three, and Four Day Marine Workshop for mature persons to enjoy. Who knows, maybe you will become a dolphin trainer or get involved with animal sciences after you done one of the Dolphin World programs.

These programs are designed to be fun, very informative, and completely interactive for you. This may be a great way for a family to spend quality time together, a unique and romantic experience for a honeymoon couple, or a special event for young adults learning about marine or animal sciences.

The fun includes talks on such topics as the anatomy, physiology, intelligence and communication methods of dolphins and other animals, as well environmental issues and an overview of animal training. Depending on how much time you have, you have the opportunity to participate in the Trained Dolphin Swim, Wild Dolphin Encounter program, Dolphin Encounter Program, Swim with Trained Sea Lions, Ocean Reef Snorkel trip, a back country Ecology Tour, and a chance to meet and swim with tame Sting Rays. Again, you don't have to be a Marine Biologist or study Animal Sciences to do this program. You will come away truly satisfied and happy that you had a chance to meet our local Marine, Land, and Winged Animal friends.  

Components of the Workshop

Trained Dolphin Swim Program and Briefing

Introduction to the facility & dolphin identification, basic swimming information about the trained Dolphin Swim. You will have time for questions and answers with the dolphin trainer. Your marine animal experience usually starts with the trained dolphins. You will spend time working with the trainer from a platform, doing tricks and trained behaviors with the dolphins. You will also enjoy the efforts of the dolphins in water with them, as they will do toe pushes, dorsal fin rides, body rubs with you, snorkel with them, and much more. Each participant will get equal amount of activity in the water. Approximately 1 1/2 hour for this activity. 1/2 hour water time.

Dolphin Enconter Program

Introduction to the dolphin and basic swimming information about the waist deep dolphin program.  You will spend intimate time working with the trainer in waist deep water, doing tricks and trained behaviors with the dolphins. You will also enjoy the efforts of the dolphins in the waist deep water with them, body rubs with you, holding them, close up behavior training and much more. Each participant will get equal amount of activity in the water. Approximately 1 1/2 hour for this activity. 1/2 hour water time.

Open Sea "Wild" Dolphin Encounter

A chance to test all your skills after you have accomplished all the other activities. The guided snorkel trip enable you to feel comfortable with mask, snorkel and fins and being comfortable in the Ocean water with this equipment. The trained dolphin swim in captivity will give you an understanding how the dolphins behave in a controlled environment. The Wild Dolphin encounter, the real safari begins and nature rules, where there are no guarantees. Now, you're ready and have the basic marine skills to set off for the wild dolphin encounter. You will go out with a personalize experienced guide and boat captain, to find pods of wild bottlenose dolphins in shallow water. If you get to experience this, you will have the time of your life because you will get to experience both captive and wild dolphins programs and see the benefit of both. Trip includes snorkeling, snacks, and towels. Approximately 4 hours for this trip.

Snorkel Trip

A chance for you to get instructed by a guide on snorkeling basic fundamentals, or to reacquaint yourself with the waters of the ocean. Your guide will also inform you on the wild life you will discover under the water of the ocean, plenty of fish, Snappers, Sergeant Majors, Tarpons, Angel Fish, Horseshoe crabs, and maybe a Manatee or Dolphin will swim by. Gear Snorkel, Mask and Fins are included in this trip. Approximately 2 hours on Ocean trip.

Sea Lion Swim

Are you ready to really get up close and swim with sea lions? They know great behaviors that will keep you smiling all day long, from hugs and kisses, foot pushes, swimming laps with these curious mammals, ring toss and other games. You will really appreciate this program after you have done it. Approximately 1 hour long.

Sting Ray Swim

You will have a chance to feed and touch gentle rays in shallow water on a sandy beach. Snorkel with the rays and a variety of tropical fish in a natural lagoon settin. Approximately 45 minutes long.

Guided Kayak Trip

Along with your experienced guide you will paddle at a relaxing pace and explore the shallow, calm, blue green waters of the back country of Key West. You will glide through the winding mangrove creeks and paddle through inches of water, where you can easily view and learn about the geological structure of the Keys along with its inhabitants, all from the comfort of you your kayak. You will able to view marine life including tropical fish, crabs, sea stars, jellyfish, sea cucumbers, sponges and various aquatic birds. Approximately 2 hours long.

Florida Bay / Everglades Boat Tour

Environmental Tour of the Florida Bay and Everglades National Park. You will be able to discover on a 6 passenger Zodiac boat the natural landscape, mangrove islands and sea grass straights. Plus untamed animals, diverse bird life, different species of fish, and a possible manatee or wild dolphin sighting. So let the science and natural wonders of the marine life and birds come to life for you. Approximately 2 hours long.

1 Day Animal Show

You will get to see different shows that are educational and fun about your favorite marine, land, and winged animals of the world. You will discover and learn more about dolphins, alligators, snakes, reptiles, monkeys, tigers, parrots, birds of prey, and so much more. Approximately 2 - 3  hours long combined shows.
