Punta Cana Dolphin Swimming and Snorkeling

The magic begins, as you approach the dolphin facility, that is by the way in the middle of the Ocean, constructed of a few platforms, and many different pens that divide the areas in which the dolphins will interact with you and other creatures. It is easy to see why many people would forget all their worries and thought for this one day that would seem truly unforgettable. As the boat arrives, you dock and disembark on the wooden platform, the pens that separate the different parts of the facility are split up for different activities and concepts, the largest pen that circles the largest expanse of open water, is for the dolphins to swim at night in. The second largest or the midsize pen, is where the interaction with humans take place, or more accurately where the natural dolphin swim takes place. The midsize pool is then divided into two separate areas the deep water and encounter areas, the participants are then split in two, half go to the deep water section and the other half go to the encounter section, the ones that are in the deep water section will experience the natural dolphin swim first, the ones that go to the encounter section will experience petting and touching the dolphins, taking pictures with them and such for a period of ten to fifteen minutes. Once they are done, then both parties switch sides and repeats the process. And the best part is that both parties get to simultaneously experience the best parts of each of these activities two times, for a total of thirty minutes of swim time with the dolphins.

Another amazing feature of Punta Cana are its amazing snorkel trips, if you believe the scene up top is breath taking then their simply is not an accurate adjective to describe the crystal clear blue waters underneath the surface. The snorkeling adventure takes you to a whole new world, where you see all the different sea life that exists a plethora of colors and textures, that would stun the mind, impress the heart and empower the soul. A boat ferries you out to the point where the snorkel dive will occur, once their you are geared up and ready to submerge yourself in bliss and fun for a solid one and a half hours. Once you are underneath the water you can see the fish and sea life swoosh past you at amazing speed. They seem not to be disturbed by your presence there, but actually treat you as if you are a tourist of some sort, just there to watch and observe. As you exert downward you begin to see the bottom and the coral reefs. It’s interesting because you could easily say that the ocean is divided into levels. The fish and creatures that are closest to the top tend to move the fastest, and as you free-dive down, things slow down, until you reach the very bottom in which movement is little to nonexistent. You may see a couple of creatures crawling at a snail like pace or even slower. You really get to explore the ocean at its best, and it is without question an experience of a lifetime.

All in all there is little to compare with the overwhelming splendor that is the dolphin swim and the snorkel adventure, it is an experience that is a must for every adventure seeker or if you simply need some time to reflect and forget about you every day problems, to embark on a journey that will carry your mind and soul to a place of bliss and beauty and refresh and restore you.
